VINTAGE DISCLAIMER
Most of our vintage items are pre-loved and it is expected that there will be some signs of age and wear. We will always endeavour to point out any defects or very obvious signs of wear. Items are therefore sold on a sold as seen basis. All items we sell are what we deem to be wearable or useable and we will not sell any item, which we would not either wear or use personally.
If you need to know more information before you make a purchase about the condition of an item then please email us at

Below is an explanation of some words we may use to describe the vintage products in our Oushka approved Vintage Collection
Excellent would be items which we believe have been worn either once or twice only or extremely well cared for and therefore bear little or no signs of wear.
Good Condition is what we would use to describe items which have been used and possibly have signs of wear.
Fair Condition is what we would use to describe items which may have been used and do have signs of wear – this may include items that are completely useable but for aesthetic purposes may require small repair
Our Vintage Collection is generally made up of one-off pieces and we rarely hold more than one piece per style displayed.

Vintage Compacts
Refilling your Vintage Compact:
You will need:
A vintage compact
Some loose face powder
Surgical Spirit / Rubbing alcohol
A small bowl and a spoon
1. Remove any net from the compact as well as any powder that has been left inside.
2. Clean the compact with surgical spirit
3. In a small bowl, mix loose powder of your colour choice with a small amount of surgical spirit, a little at a time, keep stirring to make a smooth creamy paste.
4. Once smooth, fill the base of your compact with the paste, you can use the back of a teaspoon that has been dipped in surgical spirit to smooth out the paste – you could also use something to leave a fine imprint in the powder, like a piece of muslin or something that is meaningful to you.
5. Let the compact dry opened overnight, and your compact is ready to use.
Care for your Vintage Compact:
Try not to get your compact submerged in liquid, this may cause the hinges, fittings and any patterns to discolour and rust, this may also make the mirror inside become tarnished
Always clean your compact before refilling, use a cotton pad with a little surgical spirit on as this will not only clean but help disinfect the compact.
