Leather is a great material to make handbags out of. Leather handbags are so popular that they are made in many different styles, colors and finishes. There are also a fair amount of leather handbags that differ in their grades or qualities. There are leather bags that are advertised as leather but are not in fact leather. These bags are in fact called pleather and are not leather handbags. These bags are made from a synthetic leather to look as if it were the real thing but it is made out of a completely man made material. Regular leather is a fine material for a bag but it can be rather boring especially if you are the type that already has a number of them. One way to switch it up is to get a shiny patent leather clutch bag for taking out in the evening. Another type of leather is called suedeleather and this type of leather is made into an ultra soft and velvety material starting with regular leather. Suede is a good look for day time or evening and it has a slightly dressier and fancier appeal. Another way that leather can be decorated is with embroidery and beading. Leather is sometimes too thick for a needle to get through it but there are newer embroidery machines that are made especially for embroidering the tough skinned leather with colored threads and decorative motifs. Embroidery can really bring a punch of color and style to any leather bag.
